I really enjoyed this book. It was very helpful with dealing with my boyfriend whose was just released. He is on parole for three years. I really feel that reading this book will keep him from going back. I am trying to be a strong black woman and stick by him; but it is a difficult process. The system has changed him so much. It is like he is a different person after five years. I really need more advice. Thank you.

I would recommend this book to anyone trying to love and inspire a man after prison. I liked this book because it contains real life situations and stories. There are no "pretty" pictures painted for you, just the facts. A very easy read.

I thought the book was easy to comprehend and it was written in a frank way. This book is excellent for women whose men are returning home. The author is candid and discusses the games men play on the women who tend to believe their men without examining the facts of a situation. To me it is good information for a woman who is in a fantasy world, it offers her valuable insight so she can keep
her man from returning to prison and keep her dignity and respect.
I wish that he would have talked more about women subjecting their
kids to men they don't realy know and marry them while they are
in prison.

This book was easy to read, well formatted, funny, and and an excellent resource! I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to help their partner after prison, along with the companion book (How to do Good After Prison--same author). I am an "old-timer" and there were somethings in this book that I had not thought of. My husband thought the companion book was "really good, and dude had some real stuff to say".
